The club’s annual skittles evening took place this year at H.M.S. Dryad’s social club on Thursday 13th Decemberr. It is an event at which a meal can be pre-ordered and drinks are available on the night. It is an ideal opportunity for the members to distribute their Xmas cards; an opportunity not missed by the ladies.

Various styles and techniques of bowling were encountered, but strict adherence to the foot line was not always enforceable! Each player bowled three missiles at ninepins, and had two goes, once before their meal and once after the meal. A prize was awarded for the highest score and a booby prize for the lowest score. Ties in either category resulted in playoffs. Those several players who managed to propel at least one of their missiles through the massed ranks of the pins without hitting any were considered to be too skilled to warrant a separate prize.

Many prizes were drawn in the raffle which ended the evening. The Chairman thanked all those who had helped in organizing and running the event, and was in turn clapped as an indication of their thanks by all those present.
