The Garden Club has a coach outing every alternate year, and in 2011 we went to Savill Gardens. It had an interesting start as the 32 seater coach that I had booked was broken, so instead they sent 2 minibuses, of dubious age and state, but with interesting but competent drivers. The gardens were lovely and we had picked a fine day for the roses there. It was a sunny day and all had a good time. Savill Gardens has been much improved over the years, with a fine new restaurant and shop. There was a Meon Valley queue for ice creams at the end of the day.
