Meon Valley Garden Club Holiday – 2010 - Gloucester

Saturday 12th -15th May 2010

Every second year the Club organises a 4 day holiday for members.  2010 saw a holiday to gardens in Gloucestershire, in the Cheltenham area.  It included a mix of private gardens and more public ones, such as the National Trust Snowshill Manor.  The private gardens were Stone House in Wyck Rissington and Old Chequers in Draycott.  Both were really splendid and we were made very welcome by the owners, as we always find when visiting private gardens.  More public gardens included Rococo Gardens at Painswick, Sudeley Castle and Mill Dene at Brockley.  One of the joys of such holidays is to see such a variety of gardens, all very nice and all so different in design, size and feel.  The holiday ended with the best weather day spent at Slimbridge.  I know that members really enjoyed this too.  We now need to start planning for 2012.
