Open Gardens and BBQ

6 members opened their gardens in Droxford for other members to visit. A larger number that in previous years came round to visit, which is very gratifying for the members who had worked hard to get their gardens ready for inspection. A variety of refreshments were offered, such as Pimms, Tea and lovely Lemon Drizzle Cake, Elderflower Cordial, Raspberry & Lime Cordial and date buns.

The open gardens were followed by the annual BBQ. A record number of 921 attended, it gets bigger every year. The BBQ was held in a field in Droxford and again we were blessed with a lovely evening. Male members acted as the Chefs and the Committee members had produced a variety of super salads. This is always a very popular and enjoyable event. Several members have said how relaxed and friendly it was, and that is a typical reflection of the Garden Club in general.
