Corinne & Bob's Cream Tea
11th August 2007
The Garden Club programme had shown a visit to the Abbey Gardens, Malmesbury on Saturday 11th August. This garden, apart from being a very lovely garden, is quite famous for the owners being Naturalists, and enjoying doing their garden in the buff. They have Naturalist visiting days as well, so the Programme Secretary was asked to check that the 11th would be a clothed day.
As it turned out, there was not enough interest to make the hiring of a coach a viable proposition. Instead, Corinne and Bob Solen very kindly invited Club Members to visit their garden in Corhampton and to have a cream tea. They have a really super garden and I know that they worked hard before the visit to get it into top condition and set out lots of tables and chairs. Surprisingly for this summer, it was a lovely day and about 40 members came along. Corinne had provided a large array of different jams to go with the scones and cream, and this all added up to a really lovely afternoon. So, many thanks to Corinne and Bob.
